So I'm in this show called CONNECT Syracuse (check us out at www.connectsyracuse.com) and I think our website has relatively strong visual hierarchy.
1) When you go through the website, besides immediately seeing the different page tabs, you also see the CONNECT banner and the most recent story posted on the website. This keeps you updated with the show and the latest episodes and content. All of the older stories are under the newest story, and are also much smaller. You also can't see the older stories unless you scroll down, creating a sense of hierarchy.
2) The most dominant item is the newest story posted on the website - it's emphasized by being the largest part of the screen. It's very useful for viewers who missed the last episode because they can see some of the content of the latest episode. It's also visually pleasing because making the newest story the largest helps keep the site organized - and it makes sense.
3) Our website is really good because everything is clean and organized, and we update everything from newest to oldest, just like any other news site. We also have the most important items on the top of the website, such as our contact information, the newest story, when the show is aired (it's a locally aired show), and tabs that the users can navigate through.
4) I think our website is great right now - if only our members would actually write stuff to put on the web... But I'm also biased because I am part of the CONNECT team.
