Magazine Project

I chose to do my magazine layout on the rap artist Lil Wayne. Besides the fact that he is my favorite rapper, he has been in the news everywhere recently because he just began a 12-month jail sentence for weapon possession. I chose the name, G-Clef for my magazine because it is a musical bar and I wanted my magazine to be about music and musical artists. I found the story used in my layout on Rolling Stone’s website. Rolling Stone recently featured Lil Wayne on the cover of their magazine. All of the pictures I used throughout my layout were found on the Internet.

After reading through my story and choosing pictures I picked up on a red and black theme mostly springing from the clothes or images involved in the pictures I chose. I therefore decided to make the magazine layout have a red, black, and white theme throughout. I used four different fonts throughout my layout. I used Big Calson for the body text and the magazine title and deckhead. The title is 48pt and the deckhead is 18pt. The body text is 9pt. I used Adobe Calson Italic for the captions and used 8pt font. Times New roman is used for second spread headline and subline. Capitals is used for the sidebar at size 12pt.
