Week 2 | Lupton "Text"

Twitter is a website that runs entirely on user-generated content. The easier it is for users to generate content, the more attractive and useful Twitter becomes. The design and organization of the website makes the site ridiculously easy to use. A user answers the question "What's happening?" in the box at the top, which is the first thing most people see when they sign onto Twitter. Posting and following are simple and easy, and settings and preferences are laid out right in front of you to edit and control. Status updates show up on the page in sequential order, and all the "friends" that you follow are right on the side of the page. The color scheme and type face makes everything on the page presentable and easy to read, and the way the site is organized makes scanning through statuses quickly very simple.

  1. Elora,

Good example and analysis. Keep up the good work. Maybe would have liked to see a little more on how the layout/size/position helps aid quicker interaction, but you hit all the important points.

    Cheers,
