So, firstly i'd like to say that today I learned that the Newhouse labs close at 5PM on Fridays. Thus why my headers & wordmark typeface is not what I originally used. I do wish that the Whitman labs actually had suitcase so my resume would look like the one I handed in yesterday. I'll change the picture tomorrow. Secondly, I'd like to add that I am extremely unsatisfied with what my resume looks like and I'm changing/redoing it this weekend so I should have another post when I hand in my redo. Anywho, my rationale is after this little rant/paragraph and I'd like to say that I'm actually surprised I ended up posting this on time. Hooray for me!
I wanted my resume to be professional but with a creative touch. It should be professional enough to be used in an interview for a job or internship in the business field, but with enough creativity to show when interviewing for a job or internship in public relations. My resume should also show a bit of my personality in it. I chose ITC Flora Std for my wordmark font because it was sans serif and naturally slightly italic, making it friendlier. It also looked like my handwriting when I write neatly, so I was hoping that the wordmark seemed to be friendly and approachable, similar to my personality.

I also decided to use all lowercase letters in my resume to give it a more friendly touch. I chose Georgia as my body text because it is a readable text but also has a bit of flair to it, when compared to other serif fonts – which I felt complemented the font I chose for my wordmark. I added the bullets to help add to the professionalism of the resume, and also to make it easier to read through. Finally, I decided to make the bullets colored so that there would be a touch of playfulness in the resume, since I consider myself to be a playful person. The playfulness of the added color should balance the friendliness and professionalism found in the resume, which hopefully reflected my personality.
*update 2/16/10* changed picture!
