Resume and Rationale

I had a clear image of how I wanted my resume to look when I started this project. I wanted my resume to be simple, clean, and an easy read. I believe that with the two typefaces I chose and the subtle choice of color I chose helped me achieve this goal.

I used two different typefaces throughout my resume. For both my wordmark and my headers I used the typeface, Copperplate. My wordmark is copperplate regular 36pt and my headers are copperplate regular 18pt. Copperplate is an all caps typeface. I believe that the all caps make a clean yet bold statement. I often write in all caps and I like the way it appears on paper.

I also chose to add color to my wordmark; because my last name is Gold I decided that I could play off of the name and add gold color to help make my name and resume standout. I used my first, middle, and last name in my wordmark because I prefer to be called by my middle name, Sonny. I created the color using, 20% cyan, 31% magenta, 100% yellow, and 0% black. I chose to make the first letter of each name all gold and the rest of the letters just simply outlined in gold. I felt like this emphasizes my initials and makes the wordmark clean.

I chose Gill sans as the typeface for my body text because it is a clean and simple typeface that makes for an easy read. I used Gill sans regular 10pt.

Overall I wanted my resume to be clean and simple. I added a bit of color to make it standout yet remain an easy read. I believe I was able to accomplish my goal successfully.
