The image posted above is of a billboard advertising Geico. The company used the Rule of Simplicity to convey their message to viewers. According to the website allgraphicdesign.com, the Rule of Simplicity revolves around the idea of the "KISS" method, encouraging designers to keep it simple. In my opinion, the billboard is very straightforward and the concept is easy to grasp at quick glimpse; leaving me to believe that it is effective advertising. Many people now automatically associate a stack of money with eyes to Geico. The simple color scheme and use of space complimented the rules and regulations of The Gestalt Theory.
Good job - this example was fine, but pay close attention to prompt since ideally I wanted you to look at posters this week in prep for the poster project and to help you look for ways to identify and use gestalt principles in your poster projects. This isn't the most standout example of simplicity, but it works.
