One website that constantly involves interaction is www.half.com. I feel that at first glance, it is not a very visually friendly website. it seems to be very normal and plain looking, nothing fancy and no specific style it was going for. Despite that, I find it to be user friendly when it comes to buying or searching textbooks. Right on the front page there is an option that allows you to search for textbooks based on the ISBN number or author and name and since this is a textbook site, I think that is really nice and easy to navigate. On the right side, there are the different categories and sub categories to let the user jump to whatever page they are looking for. The tabs on the top also make it easy to go to the specific page you want. I feel that even though the current design is nothing too unique, that it is very simple and east to use. The fact that it doesn't have a lot allows the user to find what they need easier instead of having to look for it all around the web page.
With so much so new technology everyday I think that people will want everything at a fast rate. Content on websites will have to be easily found and if they have to spend a lot of time looking for something, they will probably just jump to another website instead of searching a single one.
Sarah,
ReplyDeleteGood analysis and commentary. Keep up the good work and always look at things through the lens of "Where are things placed that I need? Why? Does that help or hinder me using it in the most efficient way?"
